Location
Upton Park Station: Looking out beyond Platform 1, Westbound
Zone 3 [C8]
Getting there: The District Line and Hammersmith & City Line pass through this station. Local buses that stop by or nearby the station are the Route Nos: 58, 104, 330, 376, 238
Location notes: Leaving the station will take you out to Green Street (and yes, it's the Green Street that featured in the movie Green Street.) Turn right out of the station and walk down to visit Queen's Market, or walk a little further for about 5-10 minutes to go to the West Ham United football grounds. Whatever you do, don't turn left - there be dragons down yonder.

I actually really like this a lot. The vertical lines produced by the train carriages work in counterpoint with the curvature of the train tracks. The carriages also are brought out by their contrast with the background to the right: good idea choosing to capture this in black and white! The uniform rhythm of the carriages is reminiscent of the flats which can be seen in the background: "streets in the sky". You’ve also managed to capture the dirtiness and grime which is... East London. This scene looks all too familiar to me. Well done!

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
